Lesson 1 / 14
The problem an IDP solves
Teams ship across a dozen disconnected tools, and the seams between them are where work goes dark and controls get skipped. An internal developer platform (IDP) gives every team one paved road: a consistent way to start, ship, run, and govern software. Key points:
- An IDP is the layer between developers and the underlying tools, not a replacement for them.
- The goal is self-service with guardrails, so teams move fast without each one reinventing CI, security, and ownership.
