Build versus buy versus connect

Most of the time you connect a tool that already has a connector. Sometimes you build one. Key points:

• First check the connector library. It is broad and covers common CI, security, cloud, and observability tools. Building a connector that duplicates one that exists is wasted work and a maintenance burden you signed up for.
• Build when a customer's tool is genuinely not covered and is load-bearing for their lifecycle. The decision is about coverage and longevity, not novelty.
• A connector you build is yours to maintain across platform versions. Factor the ongoing cost into the recommendation, not just the initial effort.
